For Individuals & Couples

Individuals & Couples

I treat

couples and individuals-

but what I really work with is the full range of human experience.

My approach is integrative- which is clinical for saying one size doesn't fit all
I have a Master’s in Clinical Counseling with post-graduate training in both cognitive and psychodynamic approaches. My work draws from relational and attachment science, somatic work, CBT, DBT, and expressive arts.

I started in this field in 2017, with a genuine curiosity and desire to understand why we do what we do. Early on, when wondering which niche to settle in,  a mentor encouraged me to stay open and-

I took that to heart and let those words guide my clinical path. I've worked across a lot of terrain. At-risk youth. Neurodivergent children and young adults. Individuals and families navigating severe mental illness- including psychosis, mood disorders, and complex trauma.

That's what led me to build an integrative practice- one that uses cognitive tools to identify the stuck places, somatic and expressive arts to reconnect the body and self, and psychotherapy to treat the emotional roots beneath it all.

Eventually the work led me to couples. So much of what was happening for my clients was relational- the safety in them, and the way old wounds played out through them. That pattern led me to study the Gottman Method and pursue training in PACT - a couples model that integrates physiology and attachment science.

I am passionate about this work and show up fully in the room- with honesty, curiosity, and care. I don't shy away from challenging cases. If you're willing to go through it, I'm there with you.

Outside the office, you'll probably find me deep in some 'they said this would be fun' mess with my kids or checking on my backyard chickens.

"Let your curiosity lead you through new spaces- that's where you'll learn the depth of human range."

What I've learned across all of it is that the presenting problem is rarely the whole story.
The person in front of me always is.

Kind Words

What clients have shared

"I came to Sorah with something heavy- every doctor told me was in my head. I was exhausted and embarrassed, and missing out on life. Sorah never made me feel crazy- she has a kind and easy way of making sense of things that feel confusing. After 4 weeks I started to feel like myself again- now I have my life back."

Individual therapy client

"I referred a patient to Sorah who had been struggling with grief and had a particularly difficult time in previous therapy. I had a sense that Sorah's calm and creative approach would meet her differently. I trusted that she would find another way in- and she did."

Referring Physician

"We came in because we couldn't agree on whether to relocate our family. We thought that was the problem- we had been fighting about for almost a year. Sorah helped us see that every conversation about moving had been triggering something much deeper in each of us. We left with a felt  sense of safety in each other, and a connection that made everything else feel workable."
